Statement of Purpose

The Western Reserve Local Schools Endowment Fund represents a community-based organization designed to develop and provide a permanent source of supplemental support for improving the quality of education. This support will be used to enable worthwhile, non-required school programs and Scholarships. Endowment money will not be used to support the basic school programs. The Western Reserve Local Schools Endowment Fund shall be used for the support and enhancement of education within the Western Reserve School District, encouraging partnerships with business, industry, community, and the Western Reserve Local Schools.

Scholarships

The Endowment Fund scholarships assist recipients in ensuring financial success during their first years of post-secondary education. Currently, Western Reserve Local School's Endowment manages nine different scholarship funds with varying focus areas and criteria. Examples include scholarships for students pursuing a career in agriculture or education, first responders or vocational students, students engaged in community service or 4-H, and student leaders and athletes.

In 2025, 10 scholarships were awarded, totaling $27,200.

Teacher Grants

Annually, in the fall, the endowment committee awards teacher grants up to $1,000.00. The grant aims to enhance student achievement through programming not already funded by the Western Reserve School District. We greatly encourage incorporating fine arts, STEAM, and/or additional educational experiences, resources, or materials that are not currently available to students/classrooms. We welcome teacher/grade collaboration!

Application Process: Please electronically submit the Teacher Grant Application form below. Applications are due on or before the last Monday in September. Awards will be communicated before November 1 of the application year.
