Thank a board member today!

Our 2nd grader’s featured story this week was all about music. To take this story to the next level, our very own WRHS choir shared their talents with them. It was entertaining and everyone had fun!

Mrs. Stang’s first graders had fun reviewing tens and ones with different numbers to find their match. They also compared numbers. If they were “greater than” or “less than”telling Mrs. Stang what symbol she needed to be in the middle!
So proud, we are WR!

Our Western Reserve 8th graders were able to visit the Cleveland Natural History Museum on January 12th.
Despite the gloomy and rainy weather and many of the museum sections being under construction, the students were able to experience and see science and culture outside of the classroom and confines of the school building.
The young Rough Riders were able to
1) Experience a flight simulator as a flying dinosaur and a butterfly.
2) Watch 3D presentations of Dinosaurs and Rescue Dogs.
3) Listen to a presentation of the native Ohio animals and their environmental adaptations
4) See artwork of Andy Worhol depicting endangered and threatened species of the 1970s.
5) See one of the first "giant" volumes of "The Birds of America" published by John Audubon.
6) Witness the finishing touches of assembling a dinosaur exhibit in the main gallery.
7) Walk through and observe native Ohio wildlife in the Perkins Wildlife Center and Woods Garden.
Although conditions were not favorable to enjoy the many exhibits, the students made the most of the opportunity.
The cost of the trip was covered by grants from the Friends of CMNH.

Mrs. Stang’s first graders are off to a great start using their January centers for skill practice.
So proud-We are WR!
