Lots of smiles, spiles and sunshine at today's family enrichment adventure.
Families of Western Reserve preschoolers enjoyed the day learning how maple syrup was made, walking in the woods, checking out the sugar shack, tasting REAL maple syrup, exploring the raptor center and playing in the dinosaur playland.
Giggling, exploring, fresh air and sunshine made for a perfect day.

Today, Western Reserve Preschoolers read Dr. Seuss' book, 'Green Eggs and Ham'. After listening to the story, students tasted their very own helping of green eggs and ham. The classes then voted and counted to see if more student's said 'Yes' they like them or 'No' they didn't.
Team 'Yes', won by a landslide!

WR first graders were visited by WR Alumni, Sergeant Matthew Johnson, who just returned from his deployment in Iraq. The students previously sent over cards and pictures for him and the other soldiers who were deployed. SGT. Johnson read the students a story about heroes, talked with them about his job in the army and his deployment, then he finished up with questions from the students. We are so thankful for his service and kindness to our students.

For the past 2 weeks, Western Reserve Preschoolers were busy engaged in a building unit. They practiced building shapes using popsicle sticks, worked collaboratively to plan and design their cities and creatively used boxes to build houses, stores, cars and barns.

Airman Jones, Rachel Jones' son, sent Mrs. Kovach's class treats from South Korea. While stationed there, they have been writing to him. He also bought the class a National Geographic book for kids written in Korean. The kids loved trying the snacks and looking through the book.

Students in Miss Feliciano's Reading class continue to practice and expand their vocabulary. These students went bowling for vocabulary words. Vocabulary words were placed on bowling pins. When a pin was knocked down, the student had to define the word. The students enjoyed this activity. Pictured are students from Mrs. Harvey's room.
