Here at Western Reserve, Endowment means so much more to our students.
The Western Reserve Endowment Fund, formed under the authority of the Board of Education of Western Reserve in April of 2002, represents a community based organization designed to develop and provide a permanent source of supplemental support for improving the quality of education to our students. The fund is supported through volunteer efforts, financial support of our alumni, surrounding businesses, and the community. The donated funds are invested by the Community Foundation of Lorain County so the endowment will grow over time; the principal is never invaded and only the interest earned is used to carry out the purposes of the endowment. With the interest earned, we provide support in the form of teacher grants and scholarships to enhance the educational programs here at Western Reserve.
The teacher grants we’ve awarded have inspired our teachers to teach creatively. These grants, which have impacted many a student, are used to supplement other sources of income to improve the quality of education available in our school district. Western Reserve students are and have been impacted by programs we have funded.
We believe scholarships are very important, that’s why we award two $1000 scholarships annually.
