Counseling Services
A.Individual
Sometimes it helps to talk to someone. Counselors meet with students individually for a
variety of reasons. Students may want to talk about friendship issues or how to be successful in
school. these meetings are scheduled to be least intrusive to the instructional day.
B.Small Group
Sometimes it helps to talk to each other. Counselors meet with small groups of students who
have similar concerns. When students hear others talking about feelings or how they handle
problems, they get ideas that they can use for themselves. Group topics include changing
families, making friends, adjusting to school, study skills, and stress/anger management.
C. Classroom
We can all learn form each other. Each year counselors teach classes in whole group
settings. The classes are designed to enhance students' academic, career, and
personal/social development.
D. Consultation
Counselors are available to consult with teachers, parents, and administrators to aid in
meeting the needs of students.
F. Referral
Counselors aid in referring to outside community service agencies as needed.
